About the team.
HumansApp is a young company of 9 people, co-founded about 4 years ago by Vinted co-founder Justas Janauskas and acclaimed writer Gabija Grusaite. HumansApp was launched in June 2019 in Vilnius and just recently launched an entirely new product for building friendships. In November 2019 HumansApp raised €2m seed to invest in product development and growth. The engineering team is 3 people with 4 to 13 years of experience each of them. You will be the lucky 4th member of the engineering team!

Product plans.
We are extending our feature set for building new friendships and recommendations. Currently, increasing engagement with newly made friends as well as deepening our algorithms for finding the best matches. We are live on iOS and Android platforms.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Backend Ruby Engineer to join our development team with building new features. You will report to the Head of Engineering. There is a long term opportunity to grow to a tech product team lead position, depending on your experience & appetite for management. In a small, but very experienced team – your impact will be huge.

Upcoming tasks of you:

  • Build out features within the platform using Ruby on Rails framework, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, GraphQL, Amazon web services;
  • Build up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment;
  • Take ownership of the full platform, application code and the build pipeline we use to get it from conception to a live system;
  • Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developers and non-developers.

Reikalavimai

  • 4y+ development experience;
  • 2y+ backend development experience using Ruby on Rails framework;
  • Strong passion for coding;
  • Ability to write maintainable, easy to read code;
  • Attention to detail and good time management skills;
  • Constructive and data-driven approach in problem-solving.

Nice to have:

  • React/ react native experience or curiosity to learn;
  • Experience working with AWS services;
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Postgresql, Redis;
  • Experience with Graphql;
  • Love to dogs and other animals.
