ZestMoney in Lithuania:
We are in a hyper-growth phase and are looking at setting up a technology development centre in Europe. The three founders have a decade plus experience working in Europe & UK and we have a good understanding of the cultural nuances plus very successful working relationships working with talent from these regions.

Zest teams have always been highly global and diverse. We have representations from 5 different nationalities and have many international employees working with us full time. More so since the pandemic we have seen success working with remote teams. Besides Bangalore, we have satellite offices in three locations – New Delhi, Mumbai and Vilnius + Kaunas.

We have already hired our leadership team in Vilnius, Lithuania and are looking to expand the team to at least 20 engineers. 

About The team:
The engineering team in Lithuania is contributing to a very pivotal role within the Engineering function of ZestMoney where they are responsible for all the ongoing and new initiatives for platform and architecture. The primary focus is improving the scalability, maintainability, reliability and security of the ZestMoney platform, also contributing to tools and services that would be used across other teams. Those tools and services include delivery pipelines, resilience policies, traceability tools, test automation tooling, authentication and authorization to name a few.

The team is contributing to building reliable, scalable, and high-performance large-scale distributed systems. They are dealing with hundreds and sometimes thousands of requests per second and terabytes of data.

The platform engineering team in Lithuania is responsible for the delivery process end-to-end, from talking to stakeholders, to experimenting and finding the best solution, to release and monitoring, to getting feedback from the users. The team works in small batches and values ownership, openness, honest feedback and continuous learning and improvement. 

As a Principal Engineer / Technical Engineering Manager you would be leading up to 7 engineers with the mixed backgrounds: Go, Java and DevOps. 

Our stack. You would be working in the environment with the following technologies: AWS, EKS, Docker, Bitbucket, Jenkins, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Java, Go, Node.js, etc.

Requirements

  • Successful track record in the team lead, principal engineer, architect or technical engineering manager roles.
  • Strong technical skills with at least 5 years of experience in any of the following areas: architecture or development experience with Java/ Go/ Node.js/ Python/ C# or infrastructure, system engineer or DevOps experience.
  • Experience in setting goals, vision, strategy and tactics for the team.
  • Experience in gathering requirements, visualizing and documenting technical solutions.
  • Understanding and experience of applying Agile methodologies.
  • Track record of good communication skills for communicating effectively within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Successful track record of project management.

Additional skills:

  • Experience in empowering team members and delegating tasks effectively would be considered as a plus.
  • Experience in embracing collaboration within the team would be considered as a plus.
  • Experience in managing people, setting up long term and short term performance goals, tracking progress and doing yearly reviews would be considered as a plus.
