Description

Your team will be the first to explore 5G in Baltics of Tele2:

You will be responsible for up to 5G Mobile Date Core operations in Baltic states. Tele2 partnership with Nokia will allow you to grow as a specialist as you will be working with best Nokia people. Work with the best, learn from the best and get money for it – can it be better?

Your team: you will be a part of the international Packet Core Service team, which is a part of Baltic Mobile Network team.

You will have fellow engineers working in the Network team of Tele2 in Latvia and Estonia. Third parties – telco vendors coordination.

Your future responsibilities:

  • Deploy and support packet core network functions across existing and upcoming 5G packet core network in Baltics
  • Engage with vendor personnel at Nokia to set up new services and features as well as upgrades
  • Participate in the investigation of innovative 5G technologies to improve the network infrastructure
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to defined standards and best practices and/or assist in the development of these standards and best practices
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with strict deadlines, both as an individual contributor and team player
  • Participates in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing while staying abreast of new technology/technical areas

Requirements

  • Experience in implementing, integrating, and deploying solutions in the EPC (Evolved Packet Core)
  • General understanding of 5G core network design and implementation, including how 5G differs in scope and technology from previous generations
  • Very knowledgeable within IP networks, IP routing, firewalling, packet inspection and Cisco / Juniper or similar operating systems
  • Packet Core experience, including management /operations / troubleshooting experience of SGSNs, MMEs, GGSNs, PGWs, PCRFs will be considered as advantage
  • OpenStack or VMware virtualization experience will be considered as advantage
  • General understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as HTTP, TCP/IP, ICMP and load balancing
  • Fluent English language skills (one of the Baltic language skills as a plus)
